Sophie: she say "Thank you"

Chris and I were talking about Sophie and Matthew's words so far the other day, when Sophie first said "Thank you". Well she said it for the second time today, in return for two pieces of banana. So this is their list so far, in no particular order:

Sophie and Matthew:
  • Mama/Mummy
  • Dada/Daddy
  • Dado (not sure what it means but they say it A LOT!)
  • Hello/Ello-ello-ello-ello-ello...
  • Oh no (when they drop something - and in a Scottish accent!)
  • Bumbo
  • Poo (for their Winnie the Pooh)
  • No (when they're refusing food)
  • Bap (for the bat hanging from the light in the kitchen)
  • Cuckoo (when the cuckoo clock sings)
  • Ball
  • Balloon
  • Boo boop (when they poke their belly buttons, and each other's)
  • Up
  • Wack-wack (when they see a duck)
Sophie only:
  • Ee-i-ee-oh (when she hears "Old Macdonald had a farm, EE-I-EE-I-OH")
  • Up above (when she hears "Twinkle twinkle little star")
  • Wow (her version of "Miaow". All animals say "Wow" in Sophie's world)
  • Woo woo (when she sees a dog)
  • Bubbles
  • Ank you (for "Thank you")
Matthew only
  • Kye-kye-kye (meaning? no idea whatsoever!)
  • Uh-ay-ay (his version of Upsy Daisy from "In the night garden")

Our gorgeous little boy...

Proving a little difficult to feed, unlike Sophie, who's gone self-service.

Stuck to the ceiling...

Resting on a shaggy old man...

I know I'm biased, but he's just too handsome. And so grown up! But still quite short...

St Andrews

Our second proper holiday since the wee ones were born and it's off to stay with Sophie's Godmother Helen and her family in St Andrews. Long trip so we drove through the night, which was definitely the right decision.

Are we there yet?

Day 1 and we're off to a country park.

All a bit tiring for Matthew.

Day 2. Swings!

Sophie getting a little help from Jack, Helen's eldest son.

Snacking in the hottest cafe in the world.

No stair gate, so lot's of climbing-the-stairs games.

Day 4 and Helen got the paint out. Yum yum.

And just as much fun in the bath afterwards.

Day 5 and off to the beach.

Helen and Sophie having a picnic while Matthew snoozed.

There are fish in there bigger than me!

Last day (already) and posing at the strawberry farm.

Ride'm cowboy.

Jack and Sophie mucking about in the straw.
