Finger foods

Chris has added solids to the Bubba's purees. Matthew's sort of on board with the idea. Well, he does have two teeth now!

Life in cots

We have always had the Bubbas in our bedroom, and they have had their own cots for a couple of months now. Too big to share.

Apparently, I make a great playground

Down South

Another day at Grandma and Grandad's house, with Matthew proving that he can crawl properly now.

Baby or boy?

Sometimes, Matthew just looks so grown up. He can't walk, he only has one tooth and he's a long way from his first proper word. But he can look so unbabyish.

Another NCT group meeting

Every week a few mothers from our antenatal classes meet up for coffee and a chat. Occasionally, almost everybody turns up, as they did today. 8 of the 9 mums, 9 of the 10 babies, and a few daddies. You can see 8 babies below - one refused to sit on the floor.

Sophie spends much, if not most, of her time studying those around her.

Matthew, however, gives a great big grin and gets stuck in.

Fun on the sofa

There's loads to do on the sofa. Cats to stroke, laptops to send emails to my little pals, food to eat...

Get out of that Daddy

and you won't be needing your glasses any more.

The jumparoo is alive and well

Several months after purchase, we are still getting value for money from the Jumparoo. Highly recommended.

Rubber faces

Matthew used to have a monopoly on funny faces, but Sophie can gurn a bit too:

She pulls this face a lot.

And this one.

Tooth!!!

On Sunday 6th February, Matthew was chewing on my finger while we had dinner at my parents' house. Mid-chew, I felt a strange sensation, as if there was something else in his mouth. His first tooth had emerged! No photos yet - it's way too small - but it's definitely there. And there was no apparent pain, no red cheeks, no high temperature, no hints at all. Milestone!

From bottles to cups

Chris is encouraging both babies to drink from cups, with mixed results. The water comes out much faster, which puts them off a bit, but slowly, slowly catchee monkey.

And there's always time for a snooze after all that hard work.

Firing up those maternal instincts

Several of our friends have commented over the past year how our babies fire up their maternal (and paternal instincts). Put another way, babies are dangerous to your future. Here's Sophie working her magic on Helen.
