The Riddle of the Sphinx

"What goes on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?" The answer? Man.
In Sophie and Matthew's case, they're at about 11.30. What a difference a month makes. Matthew made his first hesitant steps a month ago, with Sophie following a few days later. Now they're marching about at every opportunity. Sophie started doing laps through our living room, hall, kitchen and dining room last night. There is a lot of stumbling and falling, so there are a lot of tears too, but it's just brilliant watching them grow in strength and confidence on a daily basis.

Sophie Splat!!

I've swallowed my pride and posted a little 'accident' Sophie had during the barbecue today. Try not to laugh too loud...

Another excuse for a barbecue...

Chris' birthday was a couple of days ago, so we pulled her family together for a barbecue in our back garden. Matthew and Sophie are both walking now, though fairly unsteadily on the grass.

Hosepipe!

Oh how much fun two fourteen month old bubbas can have with a hosepipe!

The Land of Nod

Somewhere Sophie and Matthew spend a LOT of time...

Fun in the garden

Nice and warm at the moment, so naked babies are the order of the day.

And back inside for some slappy games.

"Hello!"

The 'Steal Daddy's Glasses' game

Nothing gives Matthew or Sophie more pleasure than ripping my glasses off my face. Sigh.

Helen and Stevie

We don't get many visitors staying overnight so we were very happy when Helen and Stevie came to stay at the weekend. Here's Stevie attacking Sophie with a tiger...

She survived.

Pub lunches are always fun for the Baby Babers.

Back home for a romp in the garden with Steve.

Sorry Mummy, you're hair needs a tweak.

Back indoors for some See Saw Marjory Daw.

And a barbecue to end the day.
